Claudia Van Lieshout Smit

Claudia is a Fine Artist and Textile and Surface Designer (BA Arts/ Textiles and Surface Design).

Her work is exhibited in solo and group shows worldwide. Her artwork and designs for interiors, fashion, accessories, book illustrations and gift are in private collections in the UK, Holland, France, Spain, the USA and New Zealand.

She designed and made sets and costumes for theatre groups in the USA and New Zealand.

Claudia works with architects, interior designers and private customers to create designs customized to suit a particular space. She has worked with two major banks in the Netherlands, the Historic Places Trust (Monumentenzorg) in Amsterdam, Vermont Public Radio studios in the USA, a hospice, school, restaurant and a church in the UK.

Her work has won international prizes and attracted sponsorships from the Arts Council, Madeira Treads, Coats Crafts.

She is programme leader and lecturer Fdegree Textiles and lecturer BA (HONS) Creative Practice (Newcastle College/ Leeds Met University).

She is available for workshops, presentations and publications.
